We appreciate you covering the event. We want this to becomes a well-known and anticipated annual event for fans. It’s still a relatively young event and we’re figuring out what works and doesn’t, but we hope it improves each year.

Thanks for the kind words. I’ll admit, it’s kind of flattering to have artists and academics reading my stuff. My usual audience is typically comprised of like-minded comic book geeks and friends who view my work as one might view a roadside accident.

I don’t think I’ve seen it yet, but it looks good. People seem to have mixed opinions of McCloud, but I think his work is a harbinger of comics in the 21st century. There are plenty of people willing to stick up for comics as an artistic medium, but there are too few who understand why it is, why it’s important, and how to make a strong case for it.
